About Us
Baxter Community Center first opened our doors in the summer of 1969, amid deepening racial inequality and social injustices. Since that time, Baxter has grown and added programs as the needs of our neighbors evolved. Today, our Child Development Center serves infants through preschoolers, our Wholistic Health Center offers dental as well as mental health services through partnerships and dedicated volunteers, and our Marketplace provides fresh produce to those in need of food assistance.
What We Do
We are Neighbors, Teachers, Doctors, Friends. We are Children, Nurses, Administrators, Teenagers. We are Patients, Students, Babies, Doulas. Dentists, Business Owners, Mail Carriers, and Gardeners. We are Guys Hanging Out on the Block. We are Grandmothers Quilting. We are Basketball Camps, Budgeting Classes and Book Clubs. We are Fresh Grown Food. We are Medical Care and Summer Day Camp.
