Volunteer at Baxter

At Baxter we believe that community is built through kindness, compassion and connection.

When you volunteer with Baxter, you’re not just giving your time —you’re building relationships, sharing joy, and strengthening our community together.

Whether it’s lending a hand in the pantry or garden, transporting donations, supporting events, or sharing your unique skills and talents, your time and energy make a lasting impact!

Volunteer Orientation

In order to best serve Baxter Community Center’s mission, we encourage interested volunteers to attend an in-person or virtual volunteer orientation prior to their volunteer start date.

Volunteer Orientation

In order to best serve Baxter Community Center’s mission, we encourage interested volunteers to attend an in-person or virtual volunteer orientation prior to their volunteer start date.

Our volunteer orientation includes:

  • The opportunity to more about our organization and how volunteers impact what we do.
  • Ask questions and learn more about how your head, heart & hands can make an impact.
  • Sign required volunteer documents & learn about our volunteer processes.
  • In-person volunteers will have the option to receive a full tour of Baxter Community Center to learn more about all that we do.

If you’re part of a group that will be volunteering for a one-time event, we encourage at least one member of your group to complete the volunteer orientation prior to the date of volunteering, unless otherwise discussed with a Baxter team member. If you have questions, please contact Lindsay at lindsay@baxtercommunitycenter.org

Volunteer Needs at Baxter

We couldn’t serve without our volunteer doctors and dentists, and we’d love to talk to you about how to serve here at Baxter. Contact Chawntele Flowers to learn more about our needs and scheduling time in our Health Center

DAILY MARKETPLACE VOLUNTER SIGN UP:  HERE

Donation drives greatly assist us in keeping our shelves stocked! We always appreciate having local businesses and organizations host donation drives for food, clothing, diapers or personal hygiene products.

If you are interested in hosting a donation drive for Baxter please download our Hygiene Drive Editable Flyer and notify Lindsay Vacanti of the dates you would like to collect donations and the date you would like to drop off donations.

Celebration Kits: Put together a celebration kit with all the fixings a family needs to celebrate special moments like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. By volunteering to purchase, assemble and donate celebration kits, you provide our neighbors with the opportunity to celebrate special moments without compromising the availability of healthier options when they visit our pantry. In order to best serve our neighbors, we ask that you provide completed kits that are ready to be distributed using our Special Occasion Shopping List

Every November & December, we supply over 600 holiday baskets to families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Volunteers play a huge role in making this program a success!

We invite YOU to join us in spreading warmth and nourishment to our community during the holiday season by volunteering to help with our annual Holiday Basket Programs. Whether you come alone, bring your family, or a group from your business, club or organization, we’ve got plenty of dates for both Thanksgiving and Christmas with a range of volunteer roles that suit all ages and abilities!

Community Members of all ages, businesses and organizations are all welcome to volunteer with us for these events!

Keeping up a 100+ year old building takes a lot of work and hands – are yours ready to get dirty? Contact Randy Posthuma to see what fun projects we have going inside and outside our building.

Throughout the year we have mailings that need extra hands to accomplish. These projects can be done off site or in our space. Would you like to join our Mailing Team? Contact Atabia for more information.
