While there’s nothing wrong with slicing it up and serving as is, but it can be easy, fun and tasty to experiment adding a few ingredients with your cranberry sauce. You’d be amazed how much it can elevate your holiday meal!
How to melt your canned cranberry sauce:
If you have canned whole cranberry sauce, pour it into a small pot and bring it to a low boil. Lower the heat and let it simmer until it reaches the desired temperature and texture.
If you have jellied sauce, cut it into large cubes before heating in a saucepan. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula to break down the chunks. Then, you can heat it the same way as the whole-berry sauce.
Got Leftovers?
So you made a new cranberry sauce, and it was DELICIOUS…but what do you do with the little bit you have left over? Try making a cranberry mayo to top your turkey sandwiches with! Take 3TBSP of sauce and mix with 1/3 cup mayonnaise/miracle whip and 1 TBSP lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. YUM!
